Over a quarter of lawyers regularly using AI

The survey conducted by LexisNexis found that over 25% of legal professionals use AI tools regularly. Generative AI tools are used by 26% of lawyers at least once a month. Legal professionals believe AI tools can assist with drafting, researching matters, and making communication more efficient. 62% of law firms have changed their daily operations because of AI. 57% of respondents are worried about “hallucinations”, and 55% cite security risks as a potential issue with new AI tools. The SRA guided the use of AI to lawyers last year, acknowledging its potential to boost efficiency and reduce costs while highlighting potential risks to privacy and issues of inaccurate information.
