Joe Cohen, previously from Dentons and now Director of Advanced Client Solutions (ACS) at Charles Russell Speechlys (CRS), is leading the launch of the ACS department at CRS. ACS will provide various capabilities to improve the delivery of legal work, including Solution Development, Legal Tech & AI, Legal Project Management, Alternative Delivery, and Process Improvement. One exciting aspect of ACS’s plan is to build and sell CRS’s brand software, focusing on tax, trusts, and wealth management for private clients and family offices. The software team will use gene at the centre, and they will likely use more than just GPT4 and bring together several foundational models. The goal will be to build a couple of products annually, with long-term revenue targets set to emulate those other law firms achieve. The software sales will remain part of the primary law firm LLP structure, and partners will share directly in any revenue generated. In addition, ACS will pull together all the paralegals into a more connected grouping, provide more excellent training and upskilling to them, and conduct practical innovation projects during their training seats at the firm.
