Clifford Chance deploys Copilot and Viva Suite for employees globally

Clifford Chance, in conjunction with CMS, Pinsent Masons, and Shoosmiths, has become one of the first few organisations to use Copilot for Microsoft 365 and Viva Suite across its entire global workforce. These AI-powered tools, tested in a pilot project, automate routine activities such as drafting emails, managing meetings and tasks, and inbox management. Additionally, Viva Insights and Viva Learning offer employees continuous learning and insights.

Clifford Chance has also developed its own secure AI tool known as Clifford Chance Assist. It was rolled out last year on Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI platform following successful trials with around 1,800 users. Paul Greenwood, the firm’s Chief Technology Officer, believes that deploying these AI-powered tools will boost productivity, reduce turnaround time, and enhance client satisfaction by automating routine tasks. Nick Hedderman, Microsoft UK’s Senior Director, praised Clifford Chance’s commitment to AI-led innovation, stating that it would enable employees to automate tasks, improve productivity, and deliver better client outcomes.
