ChatGPT and Generative AI within Law Firms

A survey of attitudes towards generative AI and ChatGPT by lawyers in the U.S., U.K., and Canada by Thomson Reuters Institute found that 82% of respondents believe that ChatGPT and generative AI can be readily applied to legal work; with 51% thinking ChatGPT and generative AI should be applied to legal work.

Interestingly only 34% of those surveyed were considering using such tools, with 60% having no plans to use generative AI in law firm operations.
