The relationship between law and technology and how lawyers use critical human and intellectual skills, particularly judgment, to adjust to new circumstances highlights the collaboration between law and technology, with examples such as copyright law and anti-spam law, where lawyers seek to comprehend new technology and its consequences while using the skills we expect from lawyering in general. The University of Melbourne Centre for AI and Digital Ethics and the Ninian Stephen Law Program are committed to enhancing the legal profession’s capacity to respond to the challenges of rapid sociotechnical change.
