ILTACON is a legal technology conference where providers showcase their latest updates and the industry consolidates, but attendees often miss educational sessions due to various distractions. ILTA Evolve is a new addition to the conference calendar that focuses on two hot topics per year and no more than two sessions scheduled at once, enabling attendees to learn more effectively. This year, the event focused on privacy/security and generative AI, where the first session explored how GenAI creates challenges for both privacy and security. The looming GenAI adoption moment(s) that firms will have to navigate were explained, with each category having a different risk profile, and lawyers should have a general appreciation of what goes into bringing new tech under the firm’s roof.
