Sir Geoffrey Vos is Master of the Rolls and President of the Civil Division of the Court of Appeal of England and Wales.
The Master of the Rolls is a position that dates to at least 1286 and is responsible for the deployment and organisation of the work of the judges of the division as well as presiding in one of its courts.
Vos has advocated for a digital justice system allowing lawyers to concentrate on those cases that are not straightforward and cannot be easily resolved within the online space with lawyers continuing to earn good fees wherever they add value.
“I am absolutely certain that AI will have a part to play in nearly every aspect of our lives, so the law will not be exempt…And I am equally clear (that) one should not be scared of it.”
