Humans versus Machines: The Hallucination Edition

The relationship between human cognitive errors and LLM hallucinations; while humans may make false statements for various reasons, LLM errors occur due to their inability to distinguish between truth and falsehood, lack of dependable reasoning processes, and failure to verify their work. AGI should not replicate human behaviour and imperfections but instead strive to build machines that can reason and plan effectively about a wide range of topics, prioritising facts as first-class citizens.
