Legal Large Language Models trained only on what is generally available online would not necessarily have access to data available via a paid subscription or to legal rules and regulations not available in a machine-readable format. Therefore a Large Language Model for the purpose of legal research or in a particular area of law requires training in that specific practice area to generate appropriate results.
Importantly law firms should evaluate and invest in technology that solves a problem or adds value for end users.
