Law firm Fisher Phillips has purchased Blue Pencil Box, a legal technology start-up that provides tools for tracking regulatory and enforcement changes related to non-compete agreements. Fisher Phillips will integrate the start-up into “fpSolutions”,’ a hub for compliance technology tools. Law firms are contemplating how to integrate or build technology to meet clients’ demands for more efficient work, and while building technology departments can be costly, purchasing a tech product is not a common practice in law firms. Ralph Baxter said that if it reflected a trend that helped law firms evolve, it would be a positive development.
