Fletchers, a UK-based legal firm, has developed an AI-powered claims-sorting system with a 91% success rate in identifying unfounded claims. The system aims to streamline the review process for civil cases, particularly in personal injury and clinical negligence areas. The AI tool has significantly reduced the workload for Fletchers’ legal team by identifying cases unlikely to succeed. The firm has invested in a four-year, multi-million-pound project to develop this AI technology, funded by its parent company. Additionally, Fletchers is working on generative learning AI tools to review extensive medical records, with plans to test this technology for personal injury cases shortly. The CEO of Fletchers Group emphasised the broader impact of AI in the legal sector, aiming to provide more injured people with access to the justice system, even for lower-value cases.
