ChatGPT will now remember — and forget — things you tell it to

OpenAI has introduced new “memory” controls for ChatGPT users, which allows users to explicitly instruct ChatGPT to remember specific things, view the memories it has stored, or turn off memory completely. ChatGPT is now capable of carrying forward information gathered from one conversation to another, enabling it to provide more relevant responses. The ability to remember specific information could be useful in many scenarios, and there are many business scenarios where memory could be useful. OpenAI is also rolling out a new Temporary Chat feature in ChatGPT, initially available to a small subset of free and subscription users.
