Berkeley Law is launching the first-ever law degree program focusing on artificial intelligence (AI), the AI-focused Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree. The program provides legal professionals with further preparation to navigate the intricacies of AI. It emphasises the intersection of AI, human rights, civil liberties, privacy, IP, consumer protection, and employment.
The curriculum was developed with industry leaders and includes courses such as Law and Governance of Artificial Intelligence. The program, designed for working professionals, can be completed over a calendar year with part-time online coursework, one full-time summer in Berkeley, or over two consecutive summer semesters in residence. Applications for the program open on August 1, 2024.
