Creating a prototype is simple, but transforming it into a production-ready product is a challenging task. While prompt engineering is a crucial component in building prototypes, there are many other considerations when creating commercial products. These include ensuring reliability, adapting the model’s output to the appropriate format, testing for harmful behavior, and ensuring safety, privacy, and compliance. Large Language Model Operations (LLMOps) encompasses all these tasks and is emerging as a new job title in the field. However, the evolving nature of AI models means that job titles and roles in this field are likely to continue changing rapidly.
