AI in law, consulting and professional services 

In professional services — where lawyers, consultants and accountants monetise their human expertise — firms have embraced the latest generation of AI technology while assuring clients that their privacy is subject to strict controls including human supervision.

AI has become increasingly common across professional services firms over the past decade, in law, a large number of tools are available to complete the less glamorous tasks of reviewing contracts, analysing case law, or undertaking due diligence in M&A matters.

Although existing codes of conduct should cover most uses of AI, constant review is necessary; staff might need to be reminded that a client’s private information is not to be used without the express consent of the client.
