Lawyers and law firms have been increasingly experimenting with AI tools since ChatGPT and other new generative AI products emerged last year, but many are also grappling with potential challenges and ethical pitfalls.
The American Bar Association has announced that it is forming a new group to assess how AI will impact the practice of law and to probe ethical questions that the technology poses for the legal profession.
Named the ABA Task Force on Law and Artificial Intelligence the task force will focus on issues, including risk management, generative AI, access to justice, AI governance and AI in legal education.
