LexisNexis Launches Protégé, a Personalized AI Assistant with Agentic Workflows

Generative AI models, particularly those that are agentic, are significantly enhancing the capabilities of AI legal assistants within the legal tech sector. A notable development in this area is the recent launch of LexisNexis Protégé, a personalised AI assistant designed to improve productivity and the quality of work for legal professionals.

Protégé excels in its ability to autonomously execute tasks based on user goals while evaluating performance and providing personalised interactions. Among its key features, the assistant can create and edit legal documents, recommend workflow actions, refine prompts, and even produce graphical timelines. One of the standout capabilities of Protégé is its ability to summarise documents containing up to one million characters, significantly surpassing previous limits.

Additionally, the assistant integrates seamlessly with various Document Management Systems (DMS) and utilises LexisNexis legal content, enhancing document analysis and aiding in identifying legal precedents. Initially available through Lexis+ AI, Protégé will be integrated across all LexisNexis products in the future, further broadening its impact on the legal profession.
