It’s important that lawyers create a plan before starting research and generative AI. The quality of the input prompts determines the quality of the output generated by the AI system. To help those who are learning to draft a prompt, an AI prompt worksheet has been created.
The worksheet is designed to make the prompter think through various topics such as the tone of output, role, output format, purpose, issue, and potential refinements. The worksheet also allows the prompter to decide whether the prompt worked for them or not. There are two versions of the worksheet available:
- one for general generative AI systems and
- the other for legal AI systems.
Planning before prompting is still preferred as it can help achieve efficient and effective results, save time and money, and ensure client satisfaction.
