Generative AI Legal startup Harvey has partnered with LexisNexis Legal & Professional. This collaboration integrates LexisNexis’ advanced generative AI technology, extensive legal content, and the renowned Shepard’s Citations into the Harvey platform. As a result, users can pose complex legal questions to LexisNexis Protégé and receive AI-generated responses supported by citations based on U.S. case law. Harvey users do not need a subscription to LexisNexis Protégé to access essential primary legal sources.
In addition to these features, the two companies plan to work together to develop advanced legal workflows, including those for motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment. This partnership centres on enhancing legal research practices and improving efficiency in various legal tasks.
Since its founding in 2022, Harvey has experienced rapid growth and is negotiating to secure $250 million in funding at a valuation of $5 billion. In light of this collaboration, CEO Winston Weinberg has underscored the significance of the alliance in providing reliable data and streamlining operations for legal professionals.
