Factor, a New York-based alternative legal services provider, has acquired Theory and Principle, a legal technology design agency led by Nicole Bradick. This move aims to enhance AI solutions for Factor’s lawyers and support law firms, which are the primary clients of Theory and Principle. Both companies share similar goals regarding AI initiatives, such as The Sense Collective and the Sensemaker Academy.
Nicole Bradick mentioned the alignment of their objectives and Team with Factor’s focus on AI, while CEO Varun Mehta emphasized the importance of addressing complex legal work with improved technology. The acquisition will allow Theory and Principle to access the corporate market and initially focus on supporting Factor’s lawyers. Concerns about maintaining their unique identity in the larger organization were addressed, with Bradick reassuring that Factor’s leadership values their individuality.
