Harvey, the US-based AI company, has opened its first Asia-Pacific office in Sydney.
Ashleigh Whittaker, a Former Quinn Emanuel senior associate who joined Harvey last year, has been appointed Australia Country Manager. She will lead a team of 15 staff in sales, customer success, and operations.
Harvey described Australia as a key market that will act as a launchpad for regional growth. Co-founder and CEO Winston Weinberg praised the Australian legal industry as one of the most forward-looking in the world, noting its early adoption of AI to transform legal practice. He said Harvey’s local presence demonstrates a long-term commitment, with plans to co-develop AI solutions alongside Australian firms.
The platform is already used by leading firms such as King & Wood Mallesons, Ashurst, Gilbert + Tobin, A&O Shearman, and Arnold Bloch Leibler, and Clayton Utz recently joined as a client.
Whittaker, who returns from Harvey’s San Francisco office, where she worked in strategic business development, highlighted strong opportunities for both in-house teams and firms to leverage AI for greater business value. She also confirmed that further hiring is planned for 2026.
